Configuring SAML

SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is a standard federation protocol. It is used for authentication and authorization between parties, involving at least one identity provider and one service provider.

The next abbreviations are relevant in the SAML context:

  • IDP: SAML Identity Provider
  • SP: SAML Service Provider

The next pages explain how to configure SAML to enable single sign-on (SSO) for browser-based clients.
