Placeholders

In nevisIDM, placeholders provide a simple and effective way to define dynamic references to the data model within configurations and templates. Currently, policies and document templates support placeholders.

In mail templates, you may introduce dynamic references to the user's e-mail address or his first and last name. In addition, in policies you can define which elements have to appear in a certificate's subject DN with respect to the user uploading the certificate.

By means of placeholders we therefore have a powerful mechanism to make fix configurations more dynamic and prove the link between configurations and the nevisIDM data model.

In the following chapters, we explain how to use placeholders and what kind of data can currently be represented by placeholders.
