Maintenace pages for load balancers

Using the maintenance filter to control upstream load balancers works similar to the description in the chapter "Maintenance pages for applications managed by nevisAdmin", but you have to configure a dedicated application and a mapping to serve the load balancers' HTTP heartbeat requests.

The figure above shows a local mapping serving the HTTP heartbeat requests by the /heartbeat/index.html file if the nevisProxy instance shall be available. The assigned maintenance filter is used to replace the standard response by an error page in the case the load balancer shall no longer use the nevisProxy instance and its applications.
